
Dallas-based vocalist Christopher Denton brings his powerful and dynamic sound to every stage, from theater shows to jazz clubs. He is a regular live performer with groups such as The Pegasus Entertainment Big Band, The Vintage 15 Big Band, and the award-winning internationally renowned men’s chorus, The Vocal Majority. As a chorus member and soloist with the VM for over a decade, Christopher has appeared on over 10 albums, has been featured on television, and has performed throughout the U.S. and abroad.
A well-rounded and versatile musician, Christopher studied vocal jazz at the University of North Texas, a leading and legendary institution for jazz education. At UNT, he honed his skills in theory, arranging, composition, improvisation, piano, vocal technique, and lyric delivery, studying under the incomparable Rosana Eckert and Jennifer Barnes. He earned a spot in the award-winning UNT Jazz Singers, performing with many Grammy Award-winning guests artists, including Bobby McFerrin, Janis Siegel, Lauren Kinhan, and Peter Eldridge as well as the world-renowned UNT One O’Clock Jazz Band. During his 3 years as a tenor/baritone and featured soloist with the UNT Jazz Singers, he appeared on 2 albums and did extensive performing, including a featured spot at the ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) annual convention and the JEN (Jazz Education Network) conference.
Christopher is now working as a freelance musician and actor. His most recent work includes singing back-up vocals for TV Personality and singer/songwriter Ben Folds and appearing in a national TV commercial for J.C. Penny. Christopher is available for studio recording, teaching, and live appearances.
